Privacy Policy
Effective September 25, 2026
Wayside makes patron operations software for experience venues. This policy explains what we collect on wayside.app, in the Wayside product that venue owners and staff sign in to, and in the text messages Wayside sends in its own name. We don't sell personal information.
What we collect
On this website
- What you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email, venue, and message, along with the page you came from and any campaign tags in the link you followed.
- Site analytics. We count page views and clicks with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies.
- Spam protection. Before accepting a form submission, we check that the browser isn't an automated bot.
In the Wayside product
- Your account. Your name, work email, venue, and role, plus a mobile number if you choose to add one.
- Sign-in and activity. When you sign in and the changes you make, so your venue has a record of who did what.
- Your text preferences. Whether you opted in to texts, and the date and time you did.
Information venues keep about their patrons
Venues use Wayside to keep their patron records: bookings, purchases, memberships, visits, and messages. We handle that information on the venue's behalf and only as the venue directs. The venue's own privacy policy explains how it uses its patrons' information, so questions about it are best sent to the venue.
How we use it
- To run, secure, and support Wayside for the venues that use it.
- To reply when you contact us.
- To send the sign-in codes and account alerts you ask for.
- To understand which pages of this site are useful, and improve them.
Text messages
If you add a mobile number in Wayside and opt in, Wayside texts you sign-in codes you request and alerts about your venue account. Texts are optional and never required to use Wayside. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Venues that text their own patrons through Wayside do so under their own name and their own terms.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Wayside, such as our hosting, database, email, text messaging, and customer-relationship providers. They may use it only to provide their service to us. When a venue connects another system to Wayside, such as its point of sale or payments provider, information moves between them because the venue asked it to. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. None of this sharing includes text messaging opt-in data or consent.
Keeping it safe
Access to venue information is limited to the people each venue invites, and to Wayside staff who need it to support the venue. We keep information for as long as we need it to provide the service or meet legal obligations, and then delete it.
Your choices
To see, correct, or delete information about you, or to stop hearing from us, email hello@wayside.app. You can turn off texts anytime on your Wayside account page or by replying STOP. If your question is about a venue's patron records, contact that venue, and we'll help them respond.
Children
Wayside and this website are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change, and change the effective date at the top.
